Enter the Repton Filmfest 2022 Short Film Awards

A new film competition is underway and is looking for filmmakers to enter their short films into one of six categories for a chance to win a cash prize and a mentoring session with director and producer Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, Misfits, This Is England ‘86).

The Repton Filmfest '22 is an exciting opportunity for new and established filmmakers to showcase their creative work and the fest promises six competition categories to enter - Documentary, drama, music, animation, comedy and student film. And there is a prize of £250 to be awarded to the winning film in each category.

There‘s also a Grand Prize of £500 for the Best Picture as selected by their panel of judges, plus a one-hour mentoring meeting with top British film producer and director Tom Harper.

This will be an amazing chance for filmmakers to discuss their career ambitions and projects they are working on with the renowned filmmaker.

Finally, all winners will take home an ‘Archie' Award - a unique local trophy inspired by the iconic Repton Arch that was featured in the 1939 British classic Goodbye, Mr Chips.

These will be presented at the awards ceremony itself due to take place on the evening of Sunday July 10th.

To enter a film, head over to www.filmfreeway.com/TheReptonFestival to find out about the full submission criteria and to get involved.

The closing date for submissions is 10th June 2022 and all the selected films will be screened at Repton Filmfest’22 - a three-day event held between 8th – 10th July at the prestigious Repton School.

The festival weekend will also include workshops, Q&A sessions and guest talks featuring County Lines director Henry Blake, Emmy winning documentarian Antony Thomas, BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Nigel Douglas, Hellraiser cinematographer Robin Vidgeon and many more special guests.

Furthermore Repton Filmfest’22 will be a great opportunity to network with industry professionals, meet like-minded creatives and relax within one of the most beautiful and historic villages in the UK.

They say a cup of tea can solve everything. In Charles Strider’s debut short, A Glass House, it might not solve everything, but it can at least be the starting point for a conversation. This is a beautiful piece of work, shot on film in a 4:3 ratio, at a gorgeous location in King’s Norton, with a tight, naturalistic script that delves into difficulties around talking about our mental health.
