Stratford Upon Avon murder mystery short soon to be released

Treble Me This is a new Midlands film written and directed by Guy Nicholls where a murder mystery circulates amongst three crime scenes.

And the production has just released its first trailer (watch the video at the top of this page) alongside a number of character and actor posters.

Promising a fun and mysterious story with many twists and turns, the plot details a stolen ring, a painting of a dog and a packet of jelly babies.

Released in association with Palm Haven Studios the director hopes audiences will enjoy its combination of crime, drama and comedy, comparing it to a past project of theirs called An Eye for an Artisan.

Guy Nicholls is a British producer, writer and director, known for his award-winning short films Two Wrongs Make One Right (2022), An Eye for an Artisan (2019), Kissed Crowns (2020) and‘Who Said Love is Dead (2021) and his most recent micro short Gloom.

Also nominated a few years back at the Midlands Movies Awards for their film Who Said Love Is Dead, the production team hopes this captivating murder mystery equals the success of their previous projects. And after a successful premiere screening at the Everyman cinema in Stratford in November 2023, the pieces are in place for a festival run this year.

Nicholls’ sixth short film stars actors Daniel Grooms, Emily Drewett and Joshua Chandos and past crew member Rebecca Harris returns on make-up duties after has working on his previous films Two Wrongs Make One Right and Gloom.

They say a cup of tea can solve everything. In Charles Strider’s debut short, A Glass House, it might not solve everything, but it can at least be the starting point for a conversation. This is a beautiful piece of work, shot on film in a 4:3 ratio, at a gorgeous location in King’s Norton, with a tight, naturalistic script that delves into difficulties around talking about our mental health.
